It's much easier to pick up and get into, and much more straightforward in what's happening, to whom, and why. It's much more involved (in gameplay and narrative), and that's both a positive and a negative depending on the individual playing.įFTA, on the other hand, is a bit lighter in the story, has less of the heavy political/religious themes, and some trimmed down gameplay. There's a lot going on, and it can be daunting if you just want something a bit lighter.

But they're also very heavy in story, especially political intrigue and religion. This really, really depends on how dense of a game you want.įF Tactics and it's remake, WotL, are both fantastic. Minor spoiler which may help you: Halfway through the game the school is somewhat taken out of the equation, and you only use it for levelling/and skill ups Don't bother with grinding extra battles unless you really need the money. The game really has been set up so that most options, except for continuing the story, are entirely optional. You don't ever need to gift anyone special items, because by farming you'll gain more than enough items to charm/buff morale with as many people as you'd like. But then you can just skip them.įor the school, as long as you try to farm whenever you can, and you spam the tournaments, you are set to go.

You still need to actively start the interaction between two characters that have raised their friendship with each other to get the bonuses. You don't really need to talk to anyone unless you wanna raise their morale by giving them stuff, and unless you're doing a specific route you can literally skip every cutscene playing out between your students in the school mode, because nothing of true relevance to the gameplay in the srpg mode will be impacted. So regarding FE3H: I had a huge problem getting into this game because of the school managing aspect, dropped the game, and then picked up again 2 years later, and for some reason I just fell in love with it.Īnyway, you can ignore all the story telling aspects of whats going on in the school. The FFTA games, while okay, are watered down in comparison.
